Fourteen people have died and 12 others have been injured, many seriously, after a bus fell off a cliff in Albania.
Police spokeswoman Klejda Plangarica said the bus was travelling in "rough weather conditions" 90 miles north of the capital, Tirana, but she did not give further details, as reported by www.independent.ie.
Police chief Hysni Burgaj said a sudden downpour was the cause of the accident. The bus fell some 30-40 yards off a cliff in Dom Gjegjan village, in the district of Puka.
The injured were brought by helicopter to hospitals in Tirana and the northern city of Shkodra. President Bamir Topi and Prime Minister Sali Berisha visited the injured in Tirana and promised urgent assistance.
