`U.S. and Russia still have differences on Georgia,` says the statement released by the collegium of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavov chaired the session yesterday, which discussed the most topical issues in U.S. -Russia relations and the prospects of improvement of these relations.
The participants of the session said the measures carried out for the reset of relations between the two states turned out successful; however, the issues remained on which the sides had disagreement.
The assessment of the situation in Georgia, insufficient cooperation in the economic sector, barriers in trade relations, plans of anti-missile system development and the NATO enlargement were the issues, which the Russian authorities assessed as the ones on which the two states failed to agree.
