The infections diseases at the Abkhazian coastal line caused a failure of tourist season. GHN was informed from Sokhumi; diseases spread were provoked by extremely unhygienic environment. One of the main causes of the disease epidemic was disorders in sewerage system. This invoked the inflow of big faecal masses to the sea. The most disadvantageous situation is at the coast line of Gagra and Pitsunda. The decrease of number of tourists and demand for the tickets and passes were noted by Russian tourist agencies as well. They informed that failure of tourist boom in Abkhazia was caused by sanitary hygienic situation and spread of infectious diseases. Enterovirus diseases may badly affect health of small children especially.

Denis Chachxalia, "Aqua-Abaza" Abkhazian tourist company director said: "Unfortunately we have no hope for successful sales, we will wait till August. Now the tourist inflow from Russia decreased with 23-30 % to compare with last year."
