Georgian President continues his meetings in different ministries. Mikheil Saakashvili visited the Ministry for Education and Science. He met with Minister Dimitri Shashkin and other representatives of the ministry there.
The current situation in the education system and working plans were discussed at the meeting. The president praised the consistent policy the ministry is conducting and the reforms that have been implemented in the system.
Mikheil Saakashvili stressed necessity of developing technical fields and said modernization of the educational system first of all implies making accents of technical fields. He said the country`s education system will be changed into two-level model since the next year.
The president is contented with the success achieved in teh educational system, although said there is still much left to be done.
Saakashvili spoke about certification of teachers and said the salaries will be raised for teachers who take up the certification examination.
`In general, the society positively assesses the work of the Education Ministry. We can see the achievements and the consistent program to be implemented in the system`, Saakashvili said.
