Another hearing was held Thursday as President Saakashvili visited Georgian Environmental Ministry. Mikheil Saakashvili decided to visit all ministries in the country and personally view the current situation there.
Similar meetings have already been held in Agricultural and Education Ministries.
At today`s sitting of the government, the president listened to the report delivered by the Environment Minister. At the meeting, it was decided that the Forest Department will be turned into an agency, which will be granted a right to hold forests under 49-year lease. Holding lakes under 25-year licenses were also named as a priority.
The president decorated three representatives of teh Environmental Ministry with Orders of Honour for their successful work.
