16 year-old Mikael Orujov drowned in the Pantiani Lake in the town of Dmanisi. The young sportsman, the citizen of Azerbaijan, who was the winner of the European championship in Sambo, arrived in Dmanisi to participate in the Georgia-Azerbaijan friendship tournament. After the competition, the young wrestler went to the lake to swim. His companions say the boy wanted to the cross the lake, but failed to reach the shore.
The rescuers found the drowned boy after two hours` search. The body of the sportsman will be taken to Azerbaijan later today.
