The twelfth round of international negotiations begins in Geneva today. The security issues in the occupied regions and the secure repatriation of IDPs will be topical at today`s talks.
Moscow voiced its action plan in advance. Russian Foreign Ministry said they would discuss situation on borders of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and demand elaboration of joint incident prevention measures. As usual, Russian delegation will urge Georgia to sign document on non-resumption of fire in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali Region.
The members of the Georgian delegation say despite the resistance of the Russian side, the negotiations in this format must continue.
Meanwhile, Abkhazian puppet regime has warned the participants of the negotiations that they may defect the format due to the hesitation of Georgia and the partners to sign the document on non-resumption of fire. Similar is the position of the Tskhinvali puppet regime. Boris Chochiyev, the head of the delegation says they will propose an interim document about non-resumption of fire, which will be in force until the final agreement is signed.
