Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili says that Russia has not yet said no to his intension to gain control over the whole territory of Georgia. President went to the Ministry of Defence of Georgia today.
`The enemy wanted to change political rule in Georgia, destruct country`s democracy and gain full control on it. It is sufficient to watch the rhetoric of the Russian government, the information war, which is permanently underway against Georgia to understand that the enemy has not changed its plan; moreover, they have intensified to work with this on mind. In 2008, they announced that it would take a few days to topple Georgian government. They called me political corpse several times. In addition, they voiced their warnings in various forms. The fact that they failed to do this, was a confirmation of their weakness of course and now they think that the reason of deterioration of relations with former Soviet states was the only one - that they failed to enslave Georgia,` Saakashvili said.
President hailed the change of international attitude to the problem as well as the economic situation in the country. `Georgian state stood challenges like economic crisis, development of state management system, but the danger is still real,` Saakahvili said and added that considering these threats, the key task of the country should be resistance to the enemy`s activities, liberation of occupied territories.
