Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad survived an assassination attempt on Wednesday when his convoy was hit by an explosive device, the Al Arabiya TV channel said, according to «GHN».
An unidentified assailant threw a bomb at the presidential convoy when the Iranian leader was on his way to the city of Hamedan to make an address to the nation.
The incident did not prevent Ahmadinejad from giving his speech live on Iranian TV as planned.
Unnamed sources told Al Arabiya the bomb hit the part of the presidential convoy carrying the journalists.
The attacker has been detained.
There is as yet no information on casualties.
