45-year-old man was suffocated to death after falling in a hole in Isani district of Tbilisi on Wednesday. The incident occurred in Bogdan Khmelnitsk Street. Koba Iasaghashvili was digging a hole, when the ground fell about 1.5 metres down. The man fell into the pit and a large layer of the ground covered him. Rescuers found the man killed after about an hour. The accident supposedly took place at daybreak.
Concrete causes of the collapse are not known so far. Expert-criminalists are working at the scene now. Rescuers are at site as well.
Koba Iasaghashvili was working as a guard in the building. He was digging the hole in the yard for purpose of gathering scrap metals.
