Events to mark 2 years anniversary of Russian-Georgian war are scheduled in dedication to the memories of the soldiers killed in the Russia-Georgia war in August 2008.
Events will start today at 13:00 by blessing of Samtavisi and Gori metropolitan Andria by planting memorial lane in the settlement of refugees. Trees will be planted in the name of soldiers and policemen who died in the war. 5 000 candles will be lit on the outline of Georgian map in the central square of Gori at 20:00.
President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili made a statement regarding the 2 years anniversary of Russian-Georgian war in Colombia. Saakashvili is attending inauguration of newly elected President in Colombia today.
"The Russian aggression against Georgia started much earlier before 2008 and still continues. In 2008, we had to defend our homeland with weapons in the hands. Our fight will last till the last occupant leaves the Georgian territory ", - said Mikheil Saakashvili.
