Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II paid tribute to memory of the people killed in the Russia-Georgia war in August 2008. After teh Sunday liturgy at Holy Trinity Cathedral, Ilia II delivered a sermon to the parish. The patriarch talked about cruelty of war and significance of peace. He paid tribute to memory of soldiers killed on the both sides.
`War requires sacrifice and we are praying for our children today. We are praying for not only Georgians, but others too, including our enemies. God give us power and wisdom to avoid such senseless wars in the future', Illia II said.
