Sixty-fourth session of the United Nations Organization will vote the resolution initiated by Georgia. The draft resolution implies determination of the status of the IDPs and refugees from Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali Region.
Georgian Foreign Ministry authorities expect Russia to oppose to the adoption of the resolution; however, Georgian side hoped that all other countries attending the vote would support the document.
`This is a resolution with several significant issues - the first is the right of the IDPs and refugees to return to their homes safely, their rights to have property. This is a resolution via which the international community declares support to IDPs and says that these people have right to return to their homes and have their property untouched. The resolution also obliges Secretary General to pay attention to the issue and periodically make reports to the organization members,` Sergi Kapanadze, the director of the international organizations of Foreign Ministry has said.
