Constitutional Security Department of the Ministry of Interior has arrested Kaspi municipal officials with the charges of bribery. Reportedly, the worker of the Veterans` division of the Kaspi city government Nikoloz Kazarashvili is suspected of extorting 600 GEL bribe for issuing the veteran`s certificate to a citizen.
Another official, Zurab Birkaia, the head of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Probation Bureau of the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance has been also detained. Birkaia used to extort 100 GEL from citizens for delaying the date of summoning to the probation bureau to the bailed out convicts. The suspect may face 9 years in prison.
