The Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Georgia, Walter Kelin is visiting Georgia. The UN envoy will hold meetings with Georgian authorities and trip to the breakaway Region of Abkhazia to listen to the positions of the puppet regime.
The goal of the visit of Mr. Kelin is to look into the conditions, in which the IDPs from Abkhazia and Tskhinvali Region live at present. The problems of the IDPs will be later discussed with Georgian authorities, public figures, workers of the UN office in Georgia and other partner organizations. Meeting with the IDPs is also on the agenda.
Walter Kelin is the professor of the Bern University and since 2004, he has been working as the representative of the UN Secretary General for the Issues of IDPs.
