Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili attended the opening ceremony of the Cadet Corps in Kutaisi today. The training centre is situated in the automobile factory district of the city.
President delivered a speech at the ceremony, recollecting the lives of those Georgians, who fought for other countries and other leaders and sacrificed their lives not for their homeland. Saakashvili said the new generation of Georgia today has a chance to serve the homeland.
It was the initiative of the president to restore the Cadet Corps, where the pupils of the 9-10 forms will be able to take military training along with secondary education.
In 2010-2011, the Cadet Corps in Kutaisi will train 300 cadets, who after the three-year course will take certificates.
