Former deputy minister of health care, Nikoloz Pruidze has been arrested in suspicion of machinations carried out in the state program of immunization in 2009. The Chamber of Control reported the details of the machination scheme yesterday.
The audit reported that 1,788,9 GEL was misappropriated by the machinations carried out by senior officials of the Health Care Ministryand the company, which won the tender.
It was also discovered that the Agency of Health Care and Social Programs purchased vaccine of inferior quality and short expiration, which was less in number than it was required. Serious damaged was inflicted on state budget, while the company benefitted from the aforementioned machinations.
Immunization vaccines were provided to Georgia by donor organizations until 2009 and only last year, the government began to purchase vaccines.
The law enforcers have released a video testimony of Zurab Natroshvili, the director of the vaccine importer company N-Pharm, a close friend of Pruidze. He speaks about the scheme of machination in details and says that he handed over 25,000$ to his friend Koka Pruidze for assisting to win in the tender.
