The session of the Human Rights and Legal Issues Committees of the European Union is underway at the Georgian parliament. The members of the committee are discussing the amendments to the constitution of Georgia with Georgian.
The Russian delegation to EU is not attending the session due to the refusal of Georgian foreign ministry to issue visa to its member, Sergey Markov, whom Georgia accuses of violating Georgian law on occupied territories.
The delegation of the Venice Commission is also holding meetings in the parliament.
Vice speaker of the parliament, Mikheil Machavariani opened the session today. He said the members of both committees and the Venice Commission approve the constitutional amendments and say it is a step forward to democracy, which may facilitate to Georgia`s integration into European structures.
