Chairman of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Turkey Culture Associations, Cemal (Dzemal) Senel criticised the organisers of the international film festival in Antalya because they have sent an invitation to award-winning filmmaker and UNICEF National Ambassador for Serbia Emir Kusturica asking him to be one of the members of the jury at the festival.
Senel believes that the famous director is not "a good person" and should not come to Antalya, as he is a "close friend of those who executed a humanitarian crime and one of those who supported war criminals in Bosnia."
"Kusturica stated many times that his mother is Bosnian, but that he feels a closer connection with Serbs in terms of culture... He never attended any commemoration of the victims of the (Srebrenica) massacre administered by Serbs, during which 10.000 Muslims were killed in two days," Senel stated and called on the organisers to withdraw the invitation addressed to Kusturica in which he is asked to be a member of the jury at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, Istanbul-based daily Milliyet reported.
The festival's organisers have not reacted so far to the statement of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Turkey Culture Associations Chairman Senel.
