In the frames of the 65th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze held a meeting with the Political Directors of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the EU member states and officials of the EU institutions.
At the meeting, the Georgian Foreign Minister provided the European diplomats with the information on the priorities of foreign policy of Georgia for the next one year. The sides focused on the prospects of maximum rapprochement of Georgia with the EU and the measures to be taken in the nearest future, as well as on the speeding-up of the process of Georgia`s integration with NATO.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs underlined the importance of the process of deoccupation of Georgia and necessity of full implementation of the 12 August ceasefire agreement. The sides laid special emphasis on the role of the EU as a guarantor of security and stability in Georgia.
