Giga Bokeria, Deputy Foreign Minister said, visit of NATO Secretary General to Georgia is very important event. He commented this in the Tbilisi airport on the arrival of US high rank. The official meetings will be started today. All meetings will be marked with main theme - the NATO membership.

In the Tbilisi International Airport Rasmussen was met by Giorgi Baramidze, Integration Minister and Vice PM, Giga Bokeria, Deputy Foreign Minister and Gega Mgaloblishvili, Georgian permanent representative to NATO.

This is a first visit to Georgia in his official capacity. In 2008, during the August war he visited Georgia as a Danish PM.

Rasmussen will start official meetings today from the Foreign Ministry of Georgia. He will meet with Grigol Washadze, Foreign Minister. After Foreign Ministry, Rasmussen will visit Defense Ministry. The next meeting will be with Davit Bakradze, Parliamentary Chairman, and Nika Gilauri, PM. Then he will open NATO Liaison Office. The face-to-face meeting with Mikheil Saakashvili will be held after this in the residence
