Mamuka Glonti, General Director of TV Company "Maestro" in interview with news agency GHN declared that the Press Freedom Index published by the Reporters without Borders does not reflect the real situation in Georgia.
Glonti said that, to compare with the last year, the progress of Georgia in the rating is reflected only with the situation in connection with war and with the comparative analysis.
"I do not know exactly this rating and I do not know on which basis the authors of the research are considering that the situation in Georgia improved. Here maybe the last year's war factor affected the results of the research (in view of the dangerousness of the press). But our channel was blocked exactly after the first report of the "Reporters without Borders" in two towns. And I do not know what was the reason for such action, "- Mamuka Glonti said to GHN.
We remind you that the international organization "Reporters sans frontiers" published the rating for Georgia it is on the 81 place. According to the report Georgia's Press Freedom Index improved to compare with the last year's 120 position.
