The UEFA Executive Committee approved the official match schedule for the forthcoming UEFA EURO 2012 final round between June 8 and July 1, 2012 in Poland and Ukraine at a meeting in Minsk (Belarus) on October 4, which was chaired by UEFA President Michel Platini. Poland will stage 15 matches, while Ukraine will host 16 fixtures. The EURO 2012 final will be played at the Olimpiysky National Sports Complex in Kyiv on July 1, 2012.
Semi-finals will be played in Warsaw (June 28) and Donetsk (June 27). Four quarter-final matches were also distributed under the principle of parity: two in Ukraine (Kyiv and Donetsk) and two in Poland (Warsaw and Gdansk).
EURO 2012 will be the last European Championship to feature 16 teams. The 2016 UEFA European Football Championship will be expanded from 16 to 24 teams.
