Mathew Briza, USA Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs may be appointed as an envoy to Azerbaijan. The Senate postponed the appointment question review for indefinite time.
The question was due to be reviewed on October 5, but it is postponed for the future.
We remind you that the candidacy of Briza was reviewed on August 3. At that time Briza was blocked by Senator Boxer. The USA has no envoy to Azerbaijan since 2009 July. The acting envoy in that country from 2010 July 1 is Adam Sterling.
