At the daily press briefing, Acting Deputy Department Spokesman Mark C. Toner commented on the negotiations held between Georgian Prime Minister and the US Secretary of State in Washington few days ago.
`It was part of the Strategic Dialogue that was continuing or that took place here yesterday. Obviously, we talked about all the issues that are important to the U.S.-Georgian relationship. We expressed our strong support for Georgian sovereignty and continued to work with them. I believe the Strategic Dialogue touches on a broad range of issues, both security as well as economic development,` Mark C. Toner said and reiterated that the United States was calling on Russia to return its forces to the `status quo ante`.
