"In the process of survival of Davit Gareji monastery world famous architects will be involved, "- Nikoloz Rurua, Culture Minister said.
He said the military polygon located nearby to the monastery caused serious damage to this ancient monument. During the military trainings the vibration was too high, that caused damage of the walls and fundament.
"This monastery suffered mostly when the Russian forces were there and artillery maneuvers were conducted during several tens of years.The detonation from firearms resulted to the picture that we have now. Our government will make every effort to restore it. If necessary we will invite new technologies from abroad, scientists to defend this outstanding monument, "- Rurua said.
