Giorgi Baramidze, State Minister in European and Euro Atlantic Integration declared that UK and USA are upholding the idea of membership of Georgia to NATO without MAP.
"This question we suggested to Alliance and it is positively responded from USA and UK. Now a serious discussion is pending in NATO for the final definition of this decision, "- Baramidze said to journalists.
He believes that the instruments which Georgia has already as an annual action program and as a Georgian-NATO Commission, are in fact enough for the membership than the MAP itself is.
"After the war we gain much more, than we tried to obtain before the war - we take an annual action program and the Georgian-NATO Commission in fact is far much more then the MAP is, " - Baramidze said.
He said that despite of the very difficult problems, Georgia successfully passed the first year in the frame of the annual action program.
