Georgian law enforcers arrested Aleksandre Chikvaidze, Georgia's former Deputy Minister of Education and Science today. Chikvaidze is suspected of taking bribes and misuse of duties.
According to the investigation, the suspect concluded contracts with construction companies Vlaz and Uni Building, which had to carry out rehabilitation works at public schools.
Chikvaidze is alleged to have paid 700 thousand GEL to these companies, and having received 40 thousand GEL in return as a bribe. Four other persons are also detained regarding the same case.
