Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a decree declaring October 13 the day of mourning for the tragedy in Dnipropetrovsk region, which entailed numerous human casualties, the press service of the head of state reported, informs GHN referring to UKRINFORM.
Under the decree, the state flag of Ukraine should be half-mast on houses and buildings of state authorities, local governments, state enterprises, institutions and organizations throughout the country, as well as foreign diplomatic institutions on this day. Entertaining events, concerts, and sports competitions have been abolished in Ukraine, and appropriate changes have made to radio and TV programs.
As reported, a shunting locomotive collided with a passenger bus having killed 43 people, at a non-regulated crossing of the Manganese - Nikopol railway sector near the village of Maksymivka, Nikopol district, Dnipropetrovsk region, at around 9.25 on Tuesday.
