Georgian political experts have assessed the statement made by the British Foreign Secretary William Hague after meeting with the Russian counterpart in Moscow yesterday, as the demonstration of support to Georgia. Georgian analysts say that the position of Great Britain is unchanged and that the British authorities are urging Russia to fulfil the terms of international agreements in regards with Georgia.
William Hague said after meeting with Sergey Lavrov, that Georgia was the issue, on which Great Britain and Russia still had differences.
At the meeting with Lavrov, William Hague focused on the growth of role of international observers in Georgia`s occupied regions, Abkhazia and Tskhinvali; British Foreign Secretary called on Russia to fulfil the terms of the six-point ceasefire agreement.
Before the meeting with the Russian minister, William Hague gave interview to the Novaya Gazetta newspaper, where he also spoke about the problem of Georgia and called upon Russia to comply with its obligations taken by the six-point ceasefire agreement.
