Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nino Kalandadze has commented on the withdrawal of Russian occupants from the village of Perevi, Sachkhere district, at the Monday briefing.
She said it is hard to assess the dynamics of the process, because there had been precedents, when the occupants left the village but returned to the same positions in a few days.
`At this moment the occupants are leaving the checkpoints but it is less reliable that they will leave the village completely, however, we shall welcome if it happens so, because it will prove that the international attempts may be fruitful. We shall assess these attempts successful only when Russia fulfils the terms of the 2008 ceasefire agreement,` Nino Kalandadze said.
She also made another announcement at today`s briefing. She said a new Georgia-EU committee was formed, which would hold its first session in Tbilisi on October 21, 2010.
The committee will be in charge of discussing issues of transportation, energy cooperation and environmental protection with Georgia.
`We hope this dialogue will take intensive form soon,` Nino Kalandadze concluded.
