The officers of General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained Paata Kikaleishvili, inspector-investigator of Old Tbilisi police division on the fact of swindling.
The detained police officer extorted 800 USD by swindling from a certain citizen for solving criminal case launched against him.
The suspect has already pleaded guilty. In connection with the mentioned fact investigation is conducted by General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs under the article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
In accordance with the acting legislation the committed crime envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.
