Cleaning works at Kazbegi-Larsi motorway were launched early on Monday. The traffic on the road in Northern Georgia was paralyzed due to the rockfall caused by heavy rainfalls yesterday.
No injuries have been reported in consequence of the incident, however, several passengers are still waiting for the resumption of traffic. Police and representatives of rescue services were immediately mobilized at the site.
Experts say, 24 hours are needed to clear the highway from fallen rocks. The process is hampered by the bad weather.
