The Public Defender applied to international organizations for support of Georgians detained in Malaysia, for Babutsa Gordadze and Daredjan Kokhtashvili.
Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Human Rights Asian organization and congress and the Malaysian Human Rights Union - these are the organizations that Georgian Ombudsman applied for extradition of Georgian citizens detained in Malaysia. Tugusgi received the first reply from the Amnesty International, they promised to interfere with the case of Georgian citizens. The Asian organization of the Amnesty International with its headquarters in Kuala-Lumpur said they will review the case and lawyers of the organization will offer the legal assistance for detained persons.
Tugushi said as well, the Asian organization of the Amnesty International in Malaysia "asked about additional details for the case. The place of detention of Georgian women, addresses of the police were they have been detained. We passed them both addresses of the police stations. These women are kept by police in different police offices, the translator being with them said they are kept in a normal conditions. Amnesty International does not exclude that in case of any violations they will act appropriately."
Tugushi said that if Georgian government will be able it will appoint defense lawyers for Kokhtashvili and Gordadze. The members of Amnesty International will attend the court hearing tomorrow and after tomorrow for review of human rights violations against detained persons.
