The meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism group has ended in Gali. The issues discussed at today`s meeting were the criminal situation in the occupied region and facts of human rights violation since the previous meeting. The head of the Analytical Department of the Ministry of Interior represented Georgia at the meeting.
`We put forth general issues today, as for specific issues; we demanded information about the fact of human kidnapping, where the kidnappers demanded ransom from the family. The representatives of the Sokhumi regime have also raised the issue of several detentions and we are going to look into these cases and find out if we can help them,` Shota Utiashvili said.
The meeting was also attended by the UN Secretary General`s special representative to Caucasus Anti Turunnen and the head of the EU monitoring mission to Georgia Hansjorg Habber. Russian side was represented by the officers of the Russian Federal Security Service.
