Shevardnadze is going to cooperate with commission for investigation of death of first President of Georgia

Eduard Shevardnadze, ex President of Georgia agreed to cooperate with the temporary parliamentary commission for investigation of the death of Zviad Gamsakhurdia, first president of Georgia, GHN reports.

Shevardnadze said in conversation with journalists of newspaper "Asaval-Dasavali" that he was for the conduction of judicial expertise for investigation of the death of Zviad Gamsakhurdia. "I am going to cooperate with this commission, " - ex-president said.

We remind you that on October 20 the Georgian Parliament upheld the initiative of the opposition political party "Qartuli Dasi" about establishment of the investigation commission for investigation of the death of the first President of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia.

To the Commission will enter 11 MPs. The Commission has to find out the death causes of the first President. He died in the circumstances which are to be still determined in December 1993. According to one of the versions Gamsakhurdia was killed, but the government representatives refused this version. They said that Gamsakhurdia committed suicide.
