Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili thanks the founder of the Free University, former senior official and businessman, Kakha Bendukidze for his patriotic work.
Mikheil Saakashvili visited the Free University of Georgia today and talked with the professor-lecturers and students, saying Bendukidze was one of those successful businesspersons, who returned from abroad and did useful things for homeland.
`I want to thank him for all he is doing here. We have seen many people who returned from abroad to Georgia with successful business career and they did useful things for the country, but Kakha Bendikidze is the best patriot among them,` Saakashvili said.
He recollected the work of Bendukidze as the Economic Minister in the hardest days of the country after the Rose Revolution, adding he was now doing one of the most important things for the country.
`He was the minister of economics in the hardest days, then he defected from the government, but in difference from many other former officials, who left our team, he faced no problem of doing business. There we do not have more important business than promoting education in the country, imposing new standards in our education system,` Saakashvili said.
