Mikheil Saakashvili: government was right when dissolving the 2007 November 7 protest action
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said he estimates positively the dissolution of the protest action on November 7 of 2007. He said the government acted effectively and democratically. "Several years ago Badri Patarkatsishvili, very dangerous state criminal decided to organize in Georgia the contra revolution on November 7 of 2007. He worked under the public opinion for the several months. He met in Minsk with FCB two Generals. In September of 2007 it was decided when the coup d'etat to be performed. The Georgian government and legislative bodies made all efforts to prevent this occurrence. The state bodies were acting very effectively. The people were wise enough. Georgia would not be a democratic country if we would disperse the protest action and afterwards would say that the TVs are closed forever, the elections will not be held anymore and after this I am ruling the country. I am not trust you anymore, as you are disobedient people, "- he said visiting the Freedom's University.
He said that he acted democratically as after these events he leave the post of the President and gave the opportunity to people to choose the new President democratically.
We remind you that on November 7 of 2007 the government dispersed the protest action in front of the Parliament with the tear gas, rubber bullets and batons.
