Russia demands to meet spies arrested in Georgia.
"Tbilisi should let Russian diplomats meet with the alleged spies detained in Georgia, to verify whether there are actually any Russian citizens among them",- Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.
"There are certain consular procedures, and we demand consular access. We want to make sure that the detainees are our citizens," -Sergey Lavrov told Russian journalists - "No negotiations are being conducted to resolve the issue. This is a provocation".
The Counter-Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA) conducted a special operation titled "Enveri" and detained a total of 13 people covertly working for the Main Intelligence Division of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (GRU). There are 4 Russian and 9 Georgian citizens among the detainees.
