The EUMM is concerned over the recent incident with 16 Georgians which were kidnapped yesterday in Dusheti region.
The EUMM urges the parties to discuss and settle the matter. The mission's web page informs that "a meeting on site between GEO and SO de facto authorities which was scheduled at short notice and which the EUMM was due to attend, did not take place."
The EUMM sees that the incident reveals the problems along the administrative border line (ABL). They may get even worse.
The EUMM believes the IPRM (Incident Prevention and Reaction Mechanism) is the appropriate forum to discuss the matter in order to reach a sustainable solution.
