The Russian Duma is demanding to tighten control of arm export to Georgia. Viktor Zavarzin, chairman of the defence committee of the Russian Duma, made the corresponding statement at the NATO annual parliamentary session in Warsaw.
According to Zavarzin, there still exists a danger that Saakashvili's government will return South Ossetia and Abkhazia back by force.
He noted that presence of Russian soldiers in Abkhazia and South Ossetia is the main guarantee of stability in the region.
