The session of the State Pardoning Commission today will discuss cases of those prisoners, who will be pardoned on November 23, St. George Day.
The commission will consider 236 prisoners' cases out of which 51 are women and 10 juveniles. It is not yet known how many inmates will receive positive recommendations from the commission.
They are prisoners, who are convicted for murder and selling of drugs. Giorgi Tughushi, Georgia's Public Defender said that the commission would take into consideration the situation in their families as well as current health condition of prisoners.
The approved cases will then be sent to Georgia's President Mikheil Saakashvili, who will make the final decision.
