Georgia's President Mikheil Saakashvili will deliver a speech before the European Parliament in Strasbourg today.
Saakashvili's speech is scheduled for 12:00 European time. After the speech, a meeting is planned between the Georgian President and the President of the European Parliament.
A news conference will be held after the meeting. Aftermath, an official lunch will be held to honor the Georgian President.
According to Nino Kalandadze, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia, it is a very rare case when a president of a non-member country addresses the European Parliament.
"The decision is a clear proof that Europe views Georgia as a current/future partner and that it is concerned about the problems of Georgia," Kalandadze said.
