The cooperation should replace the animosity; the negotiations should replace the war rhetoric. MIkheil Saakashvili, Georgian President said this today in Strasbourg taking the floor at the European Parliament. "It is a big honor for us that we get the invitation, this distinguishes our country, and I would like to thank for this the Chairman of the European Parliament and all those who give us such opportunity. I am here to pass the message of hope and for the strong promise that the peace, the fair and unchangeable peace is possible in our region and we need Europe's contribution in this respect, "- Saakashvili said.
President noted that during the centuries the Caucasian mountains were the mystery of a geographical location. This was a temptation paradox, were the people and its souls were free, but the governments were creating artificial barriers.
"This is a place were people always considering themselves as Europeans; however the Europe always was a distant mirage. Behind the walls constructed by empires, this was a place were people were fighting for the peace but it was impossible to avoid wars. I am here to say that we have to put an end to this time, now the cooperation should replace the animosity, the negotiations should replace the war rhetoric, "- Saaakshvili said.
