Catherine Margaret Ashton, Baroness of Upholland, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the EU said the peace initiative of Saakashvili is a step forward.
"I welcome the declaration of Mikhail Saakashvili on November 23 before the European Parliament. I consider this declaration as a constructive step and a positive contribution for the peaceful resolution of the conflict. I would like to underline the importance of Geneva negotiations were the main line is a non use of force question. We are waiting for the next steps of Georgia impatiently, "- Eshton said.
She noted that EU is ready to be involved actively in resolution of the conflicts on the Georgian territory.
