European Council President Herman Van Rompey welcomes the peace initiative of Georgian government. He declared this while taking the floor at OSCE summit.
"I would like to take a chance to express my welcome for Georgian government's decision for non use of force, "- he said. He underlined the importance of OSCE presence in Georgia and called all parties to not to hinder for such event.
"We are calling all appropriate forces for the restoration of the OSCE presence in Georgia. We need renowned efforts for the decisions of questions in security, humanitarian questions and human rights defense; this is to be in accordance with 2008 cease-fire agreement. No doubt the territorial integrity of Georgia must be fully considered, "- he said.
