Talks about the restoration of Georgian territorial integrity in its previous borders are useless, Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister said.
According to the information spread by Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov dissatisfied with the mentioning by political leaders on the OSCE summit the breakaway regions as a part of Georgian state, as if these regions are still within the Georgian state.
"The situation that was created was a consequence of the attack of Georgian state to the South Ossetia. The attack was a violation of all international norms, Helsinki summarizing acts documents of OSCE and other documents, among them with the violation of Georgian-Ossetia documents, "- Lavrov said.
He said Russia has to respond to such attack. He believes the attack was not provoked by Russian Federation. The only aim of such response from Russian Federation was a defense of Tskhinvali population and Russian Peacekeepers.
Russia has nothing to do but to respond to the aggression and to take very strong decisions that were directed not only to the defense of Tskhinvali peaceful population but as well to the defense of our peacekeepers in that zone. In such case the talks about restoration of territorial integrity of Georgia in its previous borders is useless, "- Sergey Lavrov said.
For information, the OSCE summit in Astana accomplished without passing of the main document that was to be about the action plan regulating the conflict. The passing of the document was not possible because of Russia's position in this question.
