Abkhazia does not pretend for the Georgian territory, it never assaulted neighbors. Nevertheless the Georgian President's words make it clear that Tbilisi still does not wish to conduct negotiations with "Independent Abkhazia" as with the equal state and partner, Bagaps said, GHN reports. The special statement of the Abkhazian leader reads, that was dedicated for the estimation of a speech of Mikhail Saakashvili in European Parliament on November this year.
"Today I would like to repeat: we cannot trust to such declarations after all happening in the Georgian-Abkhazia relations and after the military operations against Abkhazia. Especially cynical are the peaceful declarations of Georgian President on the background of aggressive actions in view of humanitarian and economic blockade of Abkhazia. Its attempt to block the sea way that is used for us for the humanitarian means only, "- Bagapsh said Apsnipress reports.
He said the words of Georgian President are ensuring us that Tbilisi "still is not inclined to hold negotiations with Abkhazia as with the equal partner and as with the neighbor state."
"It is well known that on the Geneva negotiations and other negotiations Abkhazia makes statements for the non use of force". Bagapsh said he still hopes that the declaration of Georgian President will make corrected Georgia's position on Geneva negotiations.
"In this respect we hope that as a result of this we can reach the bilateral legal documents. The Abkhazian side is ready to take such responsibilities. It is clear that Abkhazia never pretended for the Georgian territory, never assaulted its neighbors. We wish to build the good neighbor relations based on common norms of international communication, "- Bagapsh said. At the same time Bagapsh said the Abkhazian side believes that Russia is a guaranty for the security of the country form the outer treats.
"I would like to make an official declaration on behalf of Abkhazian Republic: Abkhazia will strongly adhere with the principle of non use of force stipulated by the norms of international law. At the same time we will keep our right for self-defense in case of the military intervention, "- he said.
