Georgian delegation headed by Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze took part in the Eastern European ministerial in Brussels on December 13.
The ministerial was headed by Catherine Ashton, Baroness Ashton of Upholland, High Reprezentiave for Foreign Affairs and security Policy of the EU. The meeting discussed the progress achieved for the last year and the future steps were planned. Stefan Fuller, EU Commissioner in ENP presented the report. The Foreign Ministers of EU member countries and Easter European Partnership member countries Foreign Ministers among them Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze.
Parties discussed the activity carried out in 2010 and the planned summit in Budapest in 2011. The parties discussed about the importance of the Eastern European Partnership and about the perspectives of the deepening of relations between member countries. Parties discussed as well the prevention of conflicts and its peaceful regulation ways, activation of the role of EU, importance of the economic integration of the partner countries. Parties noted the activity carried out in the past year was a positive one. Nevertheless many problems are to be worked out. Among the questions that are to be developed is agreement of associative membership, free economic relations
