The ruling over the Tskhum-Abkhazian eparchy is passed to Cathalicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Illia Second. This decision was taken based on historic documents and deriving from the current situation in the country. From now on the title of our Patriarch will be the following: His Holiness and Beatitude Illia Second, Georgian Cathalicos-Patriarch, Archepiscope of Mtskheta-Tbilisi and mitropolite of Bchvinta and Tskhum Abkhazia. This decision was taken by Holy Synod today.
In the official information disseminated the Georgian Patriarchy was noted that this question is of the special historic importance.
Daniel Datuashvili, mitropolite of Tschum Abkhazia is appointed as a mitropolite of Chiatura and Sachkhere (Imereti region).
